PROGRAM NOTE:
The San Antonio missions stand as stone witnesses to collision — faith and violence, labor and endurance, ruin and preservation.
This symphony traces a path along the Mission Trail, with each movement devoted to one of the five missions. Their walls carry echoes of chants, bells, and footsteps, but also of coercion and loss. The music holds both reverence and unease, turning over the layers of history embedded in the stone.
